Grants, Funding & Philanthropic Support

Iroquois Mental Health Center (IMHC) is a private, not-for-profit corporation which is tax exempt under Rule 501(c)(3) of the Illinois Tax Code.  IMHC receives its revenue from insurance, managed care, and other programs that are funded in part through grant contracts with the Illinois Department of Human Services Office of Mental Health and Substance Abuse, United Way of Kankakee and Iroquois Counties, and the Iroquois Community Mental Health #708 Board. The agency also has a fee for service contract with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and the Office of Rehabilitation Services. Some contracts allow the agency to provide services on a discounted fee basis for those that meet the established criteria. IMHC also relies on private donations and any size gift is greatly appreciated.

In addition to relying on philanthropic support, IMHC provides services through Managed Care programs.  Providers and case managers work with clients to provide them with services that are considered a medical necessity and of high quality, in a manner that is efficient and effective.

Philanthropic Support for the Iroquois Mental Health Center

The Iroquois Foundation for Behavioral Health is a separate, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization established in 2011 to generate philanthropic support for the Iroquois Mental Health Center. The Iroquois Foundation’s purpose is to raise money through fundraising events, annual donations, planned giving, endowments gifts, grants, and investments.

The Iroquois Foundation for Behavioral Health cultivates awareness of the Center’s mission and builds long-term relationships for philanthropic support. One hundred percent of all donations directly support the Center’s consumers and Iroquois Mental Health Center’s treatment programs, providing long-term financial stability for the Center.

When you make a donation, you have a positive and direct impact on the treatment outcomes of the thousands of individuals and families who benefit from the programs supported by the Iroquois Foundation for Behavioral Health.
