Teen Early Intervention Program



 

Dealing with alcohol and other drug-related issues in a group setting for youth ages 12-20 years of age

YOUNG_ADULTYouth ages 12-17:

  • Parent or legal guardian are required to accompany participant at the Pre-Group Meeting
  • Parent or legal guardian is required to sign the Contract of Participation and Release of Information Form

Youth ages 18-20:

  • Parent or legal guardian is not required to accompany participant at the Pre-Group Meeting only the participant
  • Parent or legal guardian is not required to sign the Contract of Participation and Release of Information Form only the participant

Pre-Group Meetings are held each Saturday at 8:30 AM. No appointment is required.
Group Sessions will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-7:00 PM for seven (7) weeks
The Pre-Group Meetings and Group Sessions will be held in the Iroquois Mental Health Center Group Room

Program Goals:

The Teen Group Program goals include:

  • adolescent_addictionIdentifying what is a drug
  • Understanding the effects of alcohol and other drugs
  • Identifying risk factors: social, biological and psychological
  • Understanding the negative aspects of alcohol and other drugs
  • Conducting a self-evaluation
  • Developing and implementing a Personal Action Plan
  • Understanding the consequences of alcohol and other drugs
  • Developing skills for making good life choices
  • Taking responsibility for life choices
  • Understanding your culture and how it effects your life choices
  • Developing life choices action plan
