Dr. Dennis Hopkins
DR. DENNIS HOPKINS, MBA, PsyD | Executive Director
IMHC has been under the leadership of Dr. Dennis P. Hopkins since January 2005. Dr. Hopkins is well versed in the area of behavioral health, having over 30 years’ experience in the field. Dr. Hopkins' credentials include a doctorate in clinical psychology and an executive master’s degree in business administration. Prior to his appointment as Executive Director, Dr. Hopkins was on staff at the agency as a part-time outpatient therapist.
Prior to taking on the role of outpatient therapist at Iroquois Mental Health Center, Dr. Hopkins served as the chief of Mental Health Services for the Illinois Department of Corrections until December 2002.
IMHC's success under Dr. Hopkins' leadership has been communicated to the public by Newsweek Magazine. After IMHC's successful reaccreditation by CARF International in November 2009 for a fourth three year period, Dr. Hopkins was interviewed by Newsweek Showcase. The article, entitled “Surviving the Flood: How to Build Your Resilience”, appeared in the March 3, 2010, edition of Newsweek.
